Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini Neyshabouri, director general of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization’s (ICRO) Tabligh (propagation) department, said there will be exchange of views about this topic in one of the conference’s commissions.
Titled Risalat Allah (Messages of Allah), the conference has been organized by the ICRO at the University of Tehran’s Faculty of Theology.
A number of Muslim elites, thinkers and scholars and representatives of Quranic centers from Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, Russia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Senegal, Thailand, India, and Pakistan have taken part in the conference, whose main aim is developing and enhancing Quranic diplomacy.
Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseini Neyshabouri told IQNA that it is hoped that through consultations with the participants, steps will be taken on the path to the formation of a confederation of international Quran competitions.

There have been talks about such a move for years but no serious measures have been taken so far, he noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric pointed to the International Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran, whose preliminary stage kicked off last week, and hailed the growing number of participants at the contest.
Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseini Neyshabouri noted that the quality of the contenders has also increased.
Participants would compete for the top prizes in the categories of Quran recitation (for men) and Quran memorization and Tateel recitation (for men and women).
The International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is an annual event organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, which attracts Quran reciters and memorizers from different parts of the world.
